Summary of Job Purpose:

The Marketing and Communications Officer role will be responsible for creating and delivering a marketing and communications strategy to promote and celebrate the fantastic work undertaken by Worcestershire Cricket, focussing on ensuring what we do reaches more people.

Role Description & Person Specification


· Develop and deliver an annual marketing and communications plan.
· Management of Worcestershire Cricket social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked In)
· Management of the Worcestershire Cricket website.
· Collation and publication of Worcestershire Cricket’s monthly newsletter.
· Coverage and Content of new stories in various media outlets (newspaper, radio and television).
· Increase of Worcestershire Cricket social media following and engagement.
· Creation of assets and visuals for marketing campaigns.
· Building a library of high-quality imagery and video.
· Support the quality of outbound communication.



· Understanding of marketing and communication strategy.
· Knowledge of Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked In).
· Knowledge of web and social media analytics tools.
· Understanding of social media trends and their opportunities for engagement.
· Knowledge of Photoshop.
· Understanding of current programmes undertaken by Worcestershire Cricket.



· Significant experience of creating social media content.
· Experience of creating marketing assets.
· Experience of photo and video creation.
· Experience of Photoshop use.
· Use of IT and Microsoft office.

· Experience of creating a marketing plan.
· Experience of creating coverage and content for media outlets (newspaper, radio and television).

The Job Holder will ideally have:

Retail Manager

Department Commercial
Main purpose of role: To plan and direct the day-to-day operations of the Club Shop by developing strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, increase profitability and create policies that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base. In addition to this designing, buying and allocation of Professional Team kit. Maintain high standards and conditions and foster a positive environment at Worcestershire CCC.
Key tasks: ·      Looking after the design, buying and delivery of all retail and professional team kit

·      Responsible for the online shop

·      Recruiting, training and managing additional seasonal staff

·      Merchandising

·      Delivering on set targets and GP’s with regular updates to your line manager

·      Maintain good and efficient stock control

·      Seasonal planning and buying

·      Development of good relations with both suppliers and customers

·      Understanding your customers needs and developing strategies that work

·      Comply with all company policies and procedures

·      Managing the shop software and retail website area

Key results
·      To maximise the clubs retail operation to the full by ensuring good product range, great customer service, being able to deliver on both controls and KPI’s and build a successful engaged team

·      Fulfil all of the professional team kit requirements

Person Specification: ·      A proactive team player and leader who works on their own initiative and is able to react to changing market trends

·      A great communicator with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for customer service

·      Willingness to work flexible hours – attendance at some events in evenings and weekends is a requirement for this role

Skills and Qualifications: Required:

·      An experience operator with a minimum on 3 years experience

·      An understanding of buying from concept to sale

·      Being able to manage and motivate a team

·      Maximising sales through good merchandising

·      Having an understanding of professional teams and their requirements

·      Polite, courteous, and presentable at all times

·      Have a professional and positive attitude

·      Provide a welcoming atmosphere to all customers

·      Happy to take direction

·      Commitment to customer care with the ability to demonstrate it

Salary: The salary for this role is £25,000 per annum.

Casual Chefs


To work closely with the Head Chef to produce quality food to menu specifications in a high turnover unit on match days and for on-site functions as required. Creativity and enthusiasm for good food and its presentation is essential.


  • Produce fresh and tasty food for our box holders and executive members while minimising food waste.
  • Work to company standards to ensure world class service for customers and staff.
  • Inspire other members of the team to reach the high standards set and encourage a productive team environment


  • Successfully prepare, cook, and serve food to clients across the stadium.
  • Ensure all food is served to the company’s specification and high standards.
  • Support the lead Chef with the day to day running of the kitchen.
  • Assisting other Chefs before, during and after service.
  • Helping with deliveries and restocking.
  • Assisting with stock rotation.
  • Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.


  • A proactive team player who works on own initiative.
  • A great communicator with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for good food.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours – (attendance at some events on evenings and weekends is a requirement for this role).


  • Level 1 or 2 NVQ or a minimum of two years relevant experience
  • A minimum of level two hygiene certificate
  • Basic knowledge of all sections of a kitchen
  • Understanding of health and safety and basic food hygiene practices
  • Knowledge on how to use major cooking kitchen equipment including: stoves, rationales, combination oven-grills, brat pans and refrigerators.
  • Good verbal communication and a high level of attention to detail
  • Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes.
  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced sports stadium environment is desirable but not essential


  • There are no set hours associated with this role, you will work on a casual basis.
