What’s been achieved so far…

  • One to one whistle blowing discussions with all players and staff
  • Provision of an ECB wide whistleblowing link added to the Worcestershire CCC website
  • Expanded the mentoring system to buddy a professional player with every senior academy player
  • External EDI training session led by EDI Expert Tom Brown on understanding barriers in cricket pathways and the impact of unconscious bias delivered to Worcestershire CCC Board members and senior club coaches
  • Provided free training tops and shorts to all participants in the Worcestershire Pathway
  • Jean Price Bursary for financial assistance to pathway participants was provided with additional funding from Worcestershire CCC
  • Implemented best practice fairer recruitment procedures including anonymised recruitment of senior roles, all job adverts contain a diversity statement and candidates are interviewed by a diverse interview panel. EDI appraisal objectives embedded for senior Leadership Team
  • Steward training on detection and enforcement of abusive crowd behaviour undertaken ahead of the season to ensure New Road is a welcoming safe place to all visitors
  • Increased number of Blue Badge parking spaces, wheelchair user seats and accessible seats, all now bookable in advance. An allocated steward to look after these guests.
  • Disabled toilet provision increased and refurbished
  • Bronze and Silver Tiers for Board Best Practice governance achieved
  • Creation of an EDI calendar to celebrate cultural events
  • Food and beverage menu increased to include more vegan, halal, gluten free, non-alcohol and low-alcohol choices
