RODERICK ENJOYING ANOTHER PROLIFIC WINTER FOR GREEN POINT

Worcestershire keeper-batter, Gareth Roderick, is enjoying another prolific winter with the bat skippering Green Point in Cape Town.

Roderick has passed 600 runs for the third successive season with the Western Province Premier Division club.

His half century against Brackenfell at the weekend took his overall tally to 613 runs from 14 innings at an average of 47.15.

It follows on from his 620 run tally for 2022-2023 and then 633 during the 2023-2024 campaign.

Roderick is Green Point’s top run-scorer and his tally includes two centuries and three fifties but there have also been plenty of other useful contributions.

He struck 120 versus Milnerton and 102 off the Cape Town attack plus half centuries against UWC (63) and two against Brackenfell (86 and 60).

Roderick will have several more opportunities to add to his impressive tally before heading back to Visit Worcestershire New Road in mid-March to continue preparations for the 2025 season.

Last summer he lifted four awards at Worcestershire’s Gala Evening in late September including the Graveney Players’ Player Award and the Dick Lygon Award for contributions on and off the field.

Roderick also played in every single game in the County Championship, Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One Day Cup during the 2024 campaign.
