Worcestershire batter, Kashif Ali, has emerged as the leading scorer for Ghani Glass after five matches of the first-class President’s Trophy competition in Pakistan.
Kashif has totalled to date 304 runs at an average of 33.78 and had to confront some demanding challenges for batters.
But he has responded with a century and several other crucial contributions in the bowler-friendly conditions using a Dukes ball.
It follows on from Kashif being Worcestershire’s top run-scorer in the County Championship last summer batting at number three – his first full season of red ball cricket.
Kashif is also amongst the overall top 20 scorers in the President’s Trophy during a demanding period of action of eight games in eight weeks.
He struck a joint career best 133 versus Pakistan Television but knocks of 44 not out – during a century stand, 31 when second highest scorer, and 46 in a partnership of 99, have also proved invaluable.
Kashif and Ghani Glass drew their fifth game against Khan Research Laboratories after batting most of the final day.
The sixth of their eighth games will begin on February 12 against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines at the State Bank Stadium, Karachi.
Worcestershire batter Adam Hose’s side, Desert Vipers, had to be content with runners—up spot in the International League T20 tournament after losing the final to Dubai Capitals in Dubai.
Hose played in four group matches against the Capitals, Sharjah Warriors, MI Emirates and Gulf Giants.
