
Worcestershire County Cricket Club marks landmark 2025 with trophy success, record commercial growth and transformational step towards long-term sustainability
Key highlights from the Annual Report 2025

One Day Cup Champions: Worcestershire lifted the Metro Bank One Day Cup at Trent Bridge, a landmark victory dedicated to the memory of Josh Baker.

Record commercial performance: The Club achieved record levels of sponsorship and hospitality, with sponsorship & advertising reaching £1,044,337 (up 51% year-on-year).

Transformational improvement in finances: Following proceeds linked to the ECB’s sale of The Hundred franchises, the Club reduced its debt from £3,830,017 to £447,636, and returned to a positive balance sheet with net assets of £2,926,045 (2024: net liabilities).

Continued investment despite challenges: The Club recorded a small loss excluding ECB Hundred income, reflecting increased investment and significant flood-related costs at New Road.

Women’s & girls’ cricket growth: The Women’s Rapids competed in Tier 2 for the first time, while the girls’ pathway expanded (including growth in participation and increased winter coaching hours).

Leading the game on inclusion and diversity: Worcestershire was ranked #1 across First-Class Counties for inclusion and #1 for diversity in the most recent game-wide EDI census, alongside receiving national recognition for EDI initiatives.

Future planning for flooding resilience: Expert assessments continue to shape long-term planning, including progress towards identifying an additional venue to support professional cricket in the face of increasing flood risk at New Road.

Stronger governance and sustainability progress: The Club reported progress in governance improvements and a move from “red” to “amber” in the ECB’s sustainability assessment.
