Girls Pathway Summary

Worcestershire CCC aims to ensure all involvement in club activity is a ‘great experience’. Driven by the values of trust, inclusiveness, kindness, togetherness and resilience ensures the pathway creates a positive image of the game and the club. The pathway aspires to lead in terms of talent identification, development and inclusion where we support players to thrive in cricket, for Worcestershire and England.

Girls Pathway Data

There are 112 girls across 4 County Age Group (CAG) squads and the Early Engagement Programme (EEP).

Data collected from those within the girl’s pathway shows that 54% are from state schools (up 10% from the previous year) and 13% are from ethnic diverse backgrounds (up 4% from the previous year), representing 6 different ethnicities.

We are committed to reducing barriers upon entering the pathway which should in turn improve the opportunities for girls from sate schools and different ethnic backgrounds. The introduction of the EEP and the Waves Programme at the start of 2026 has been beneficial in the reduction of potential barriers. The Jean Price Bursary is also fundamental in the continued reduction of barriers.
