England Lions out to roar at New Road

Published 02/06/2026

County colours will be replaced by the Three Lions this week, as England Lions face off against South Africa A at New Road in a double billing of white ball action.

After battling it out in two fiercely contested four day matches in May, the action continues at New Road in the shape of two 50 over fixtures, played on Sunday 7th and Tuesday 9th June.

The matches make up the second and third instalments of a three-match series which kicks off on Friday, at Uptonsteel Grace Road, Leicestershire.

Stars from both sides are set to feature, with emerging England players Asa Tribe, Ben Mayes and Ekansh Singh all enjoying successful outings during the tour’s opening two matches after impressive starts to the County summer.

Coming up against a well-stocked South African side, England found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-0 red ball series defeat but will be keen to start on a better foot when the format changes, this Sunday.

Having enjoyed sprinkling of international stardust last summer when England U19’s showcased their skills in two thrilling One Day Internationals against India U19’s, New Road is no stranger to hosting the best.

Worcestershire paceman Jack Home featured during that series, enjoying a memorable battle with teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, with more fireworks in store this week across the two fixtures.

Adult tickets can be purchased for just £10, whilst Kids can watch for just £5.

Tickets for both matches can be secured via the link below, so reserve your seat now and watch the Lions Roar!
