Worcestershire County Cricket Club is placing accessibility firmly at the heart of its plans for the 2026 season, with junior replica shirts set to be priced at just £19.95.
The new pricing applies to Junior versions of the Men’s and Women’s replica playing shirts, as well as training shirts, all of which will be available at the reduced rate ahead of the 2026 campaign.
The move forms part of a wider club strategy to inspire the next generation of cricketers and remove barriers that can prevent young people from getting involved in the game.
By significantly lowering the cost of junior shirts, the Club aims to make cricket more accessible for families across the county. The average price of junior replica shirts elsewhere is typically around twice this cost, underlining our commitment to leading from the front as we enter a new era.
This latest initiative follows the successful launch of the Club’s new Junior Pathway kit earlier this year, introduced alongside the Club’s partnership with Macron. Designed specifically for players on the Worcestershire junior pathway, the range made an immediate impact, achieving record sales in its first week of release.
The pathway range was developed with a clear objective: to lower barriers to participation. As a result, this year’s kit was made an average of nine per cent cheaper than last season’s equivalent, ensuring more young cricketers and their families can access the clothing they need to represent the county with pride. The reduction in junior shirt prices continues that consistent approach across all areas of the Club’s junior offering.
The emphasis on accessibility extends beyond kit, however. The Club has also taken steps to reduce ticket prices at Visit Worcestershire New Road for the 2026 season. For example, tickets for this year’s Women’s One Day International between England and Ireland started at just £5 for juniors, with the same price point applied to Vitality Blast T20 fixtures.
Additionally, the popular “Kids for a Quid” initiative, used across the last two summers in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, is confirmed to return in 2026.
2026 has continued to gather momentum off the field, in light of the sales of this season’s Junior membership, that has seen young supporters able to make the most of the excellent value of memberships, with prices starting at just £45.
Chief Executive Officer, Ashley Giles, said the decision by the club to reduce junior shirt prices was another bold step to stand out.
“As a club are always striving to find ways to move forward and are driven by our desire to be innovative, both on and off the field, which has been a prevalent part of the new partnership with Macron.
“Knowing how important the next generation of supporters and young players are to the future of Worcestershire County Cricket Club, it is very exciting to commit to bettering access to an area of the club we feel so passionately about.
“We are really excited by the potential that 2026 holds for the club and this announcement, along with our upcoming kit launch, are all positive steps in the right direction as we head into the start of the new season.”
Through reduced kit costs and affordable ticketing, Worcestershire County Cricket Club is working closely with the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation to build stronger links with the community and ensure that more young people can access, enjoy and be inspired by the game, something Worcestershire Cricket Foundation Executive Director, Harry Kitchen, is eager to maximise.
“As a foundation, we are delighted to support the county club’s initiatives to help inspire the next generation. Our work across diverse communities and brings us into contact with people, and especially young people from a wide range of backgrounds.
“It is vital that they are given the opportunity to access these benefits and experiences at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, ensuring the game is welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all.”
“Together, it is our responsibility to inspire future generations to play cricket and to show that this is a sport truly for everyone.”
Supporters will be able to purchase kit when it goes on sale, this Thursday, 26th February, at 8am.
