
As New Road readies itself for a bumper week of international action, England Lions have today named an exciting squad set to take the field against South Africa A across two scheduled One Day matches.
Taking on South Africa A on Sunday 7th June and Tuesday 9th June at New Road, fans can expect to see stars from across the County game contest the second and third fixtures of the three match 50 over series.
With the opening match of the series set to take place in Leicestershire on Friday, the Lions have named an all star cast to take on the visitors.
Included in the 16-man squad is four-day captain Dan Mousley (Warwickshire), England seamer Matt Potts and Durham teammate Ben McKinney.
The selection of exciting batters Asa Tribe (Glamorgan) and Jordan Cox (Essex) catch the eye, whilst Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire) adds more x-factor to a potent bowling attack.
Sussex duo James Coles and Henry Crocombe have also been given their chance to shine, whilst it has been confirmed that James Rew (Somerset) and Rehaan Ahmed (Leicestershire) will be released from the England Test squad to join up with the Lions for the duration of the series.
Having gone down in the two First Class matches played at the end of last month, the Lions will be eager to avenge their defeats and put on a show at the home of Worcestershire CCC.
