WYATT HELPS ENGLAND WOMEN TO ODI VICTORY OVER NEW ZEALAND AT NEW ROAD

Danni Wyatt marked her 200th appearance for England Women with a crucial knock in the rain-affected second Royal London International against New Zealand Women at New Road.

Wyatt helped England to achieve a 13 run win under the Duckworth-Lewis Method and take a 2-0 lead in the best of five match series.

She struck an unbeaten 63 from 72 balls with two sixes and four fours in helping England total 197 all out after being put into bat.

Wyatt replaced the rested Katherine Brunt and put on a crucial 51 for the last wicket with Tash Farrant (22) to rescue England from 146-9.

New Zealand reached 40-0 in reply but Kate Cross removed both openers and, after a rain break, Charlotte Dean worked her way through the middle and lower order.

She finished with 4-36 and Cross 3-43.

New Zealand were set a revised target of 183 in 42 overs and were dismissed for 169.

The third match in the series will take place at the Uptonsteel County Ground, Leicester on Tuesday.
