Nine members of the Worcestershire CCC Cricket Pathway have helped Barnt Green to make history by winning the ECB Under-15 National Club Championships.
Barnt Green triumphed by 107 runs over St. Cross Symondians CC in the final of the T20 competition which was staged at Rugby School.
This followed on from a 52 run success over Hallam CC in the semi-finals as they became the first team from Worcestershire to win this prestigious trophy.
The nine pathway players were: Sam and Jake Johnstone, Peter Hawk, (County Under-15s and Rapids Programme).
Nicholas Jakobsen, Hayden Froggatt, Ben Humphries, Daniel Meredith, Fergus Roll, George Homer (County Under-14s and Rapids Programme).
In the final Barnt Green elected to bat and amassed 219-2 off their 20 overs.
Harry Thompson (52 retired not out), Peter Hawk (50 retired not out), James Moody (44) and Jacques Benton (43) were the main contributors with the bat.
Then Hayden Froggatt (2-26), Jake Johnstone (2-20), Daniel Meredith (2-16), Sam Johnstone (1-30), Jacques Benton (1-9) and Fergus Roll (1-5) shared the wickets as St. Cross were bowled out for 112 in 19.1 overs.
In the sem-final Barnt Green were put in and made 121-9 with George Homer (44) their main contributor.
Hallam were restricted to 69-9 with Sam Johnstone (2-13), Jake Johnstone (2-11), Daniel Meredith (2-7), Hayden Froggatt (1-11) and Jacques Benton (1-16) the wicket-takers as Barnt Green ran out comfortable winners.
