WORCESTERSHIRE TO STAGE QUARTET OF CENTRAL SPARKS 2022 FIXTURES AT NEW ROAD

Worcestershire will stage another FOUR Central Sparks fixtures at New Road next summer in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

It will once again give Worcestershire members and supporters the chance to see a host of Worcestershire Women’s Rapids players in action on their home ground for the Sparks.

England spinner Sarah Glenn, England Lions player Emily Arlott and Clare Boycott are all part of the Sparks squad.

In addition, Sparks players Ami Campbell and Milly Home have joined the Rapids on loan from other counties for the 2022 season.

The Charlotte Edwards Cup takes centre stage during the early part of the campaign, and New Road will host the Sparks game in the T20 competition with Western Storm on Saturday, June 4.

The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy – a 50 over tournament – will feature during the second half of the summer and Northern Diamonds visit New Road on Saturday, July 16.

There are two other Trophy games at New Road during September against Lightning on Friday, September 9 and Sunrisers on Saturday, September 17.

New Road held a similar number of Sparks games last summer, and it is an exciting opportunity to see some of the top women’s cricketers.
