WORCESTERSHIRE PACEMAN PENNINGTON RETURNS TO ACTION DOWN UNDER

Worcestershire CCC paceman Dillon Pennington made a return to action for the first time in three and a half months when playing for Adelaide CC in the South Australia Cricket Association encounter with Woodville CC.

Pennington eased his way back into bowling by sending down four tidy overs for nine runs after taking the new ball.

It was his first game since taking five wickets in Worcestershire’s LV=Insurance County Championship triumph over Leicestershire at New Road in late September.

The 22-year-old then made an impact with the bat after Woodville had been bowled out for 222 in 45.1 overs.

He came in at number six with Adelaide on 18-4 and struck 34 off just 33 balls.

Pennington hit three sixes and two fours before he was sixth out at 82 as Adelaide were dismissed for 186 in 47.1 overs.

Only two other players topped the 30 mark.

Pennington will increase his bowling workload in gradually moving back into full flow during his two months with Adelaide before returning to New Road on March 10.
