Worcestershire County Cricket Club will be hosting open trials for male and female cricketers over the age of 18 in the next few months with the Club keen to open up opportunities for talented players who may have slipped through the traditional recruitment or pathway programmes.
Senior Worcestershire coaches will put players through their paces in a net and fielding session, and will also provide feedback to all attendees after the sessions.
The mens session will be held at New Road on Sunday 18 September 2022, with players invited to apply online to join via our website from 6pm on Monday 22 August 2022.
Female cricketers will also get the same opportunity to be picked up and have the opportunity to do so at our Open Female Trial at Bromsgrove School on Sunday 2 April 2023. Applications for the female trial day will open early 2023.
Other than being UK based with a right to work here and being over 18, there is no selection criteria for the trials and places will be handed out to players on a first come first served basis.
Academy Coach Elliot Wilson commented, “We understand that players come from all sorts of backgrounds with a mixture of strengths and weaknesses.
We are keen to give the opportunities to any cricketer who feels they can still play in the professional game and we feel that the open trials offer a place for players who have fallen out of the traditional pathway system or who have developed in a different way.”
PLEASE NOTE:
– Trials are only open to UK-based applicants.
– We will not accept cricketing CVs or videos as a means to book onto trials. Those that are sent in will be discarded.
– Speculative emails will not be considered
– Any player arriving without confirmation, will be turned away.
