WORCESTERSHIRE CELEBRATES A YEAR OF RESILIENCE AND SUCCESS IN 2023 ANNUAL REPORT

Worcestershire County Cricket Club is proud to present its Annual Report for 2023, marking a year of significant achievement. The club witnessed commendable performances both on and off the field, demonstrating the Clubs commitment to excellence, community engagement, and sustainable development.

Under the new leadership, the club overcame challenges, including managing the impact of four floods, while significantly boosting staff morale and operational efficiency. The men’s team achieved a triumphant promotion to Division One, while the women’s team clinched the West Midlands Cup, showcasing the depth of talent within the club.

The report also highlights our unwavering dedication to the local community and the development of cricket at all levels. Our Academy and Pathway programs have continued to nurture young talent, promising a bright future for cricket in Worcestershire.

Financially, the Club has made a remarkable recovery, turning a significant deficit in 2022 into a modest profit in 2023. This has been achieved through an uplift in revenue across nearly all income streams and effective expense management amidst inflationary pressures. The Club remains focused on financial sustainability, reducing debt, and developing new revenue streams to support it’s ambitions.

Worcestershire County Cricket Club extends heartfelt thanks to its players, staff, members, supporters, and corporate partners for their dedication and support. Together, the Club looks forward to building on this year’s success, engaging more deeply with the community, and promoting cricket throughout Worcestershire.

Chief Executive Ashley Giles commented, “As CEO of Worcestershire County Cricket Club, I am immensely proud of what we’ve achieved in 2023.
