WORCESTERSHIRE CCC PACEMAN DILLON PENNINGTON TO CAPTAIN ADELAIDE

Worcestershire CCC paceman, Dillon Pennington, is to have a taste of captaincy when playing for Adelaide CC this weekend.

Pennington will lead Adelaide in the South Australia Cricket Association first grade match with Kensington at the Glandore Oval tomorrow (Saturday).

He eased his way back into action last weekend after three and a half months when bowling four overs and hitting 34 in a second grade game.

It will be a rare taste of captaincy for Pennington who will be hoping to help revive Adelaide’s fortunes during his two months with the club.

They are currently lying 12th in the 13 team table.

Pennington’s Worcestershire team-mate, batsman Jack Haynes, will make his debut tomorrow for Green Point CC tomorrow.

They will travel to take on Rondebosch CC in the Western Province Cricket Association Premier League.

Haynes will be looking to help Green Point establish themselves in the Premier League after gaining promotion from the First Division in 2019-2020.

The 2020-2021 campaign was cancelled because of the pandemic.
