Worcestershire batter Kashif Ali hit his first half century of the winter for Ghani Glass to lead a fightback in the President’s Trophy encounter with Pakistan Television in Karachi.
Kashif has made several useful contributions including an unbeaten 44 in a match winning century partnership and a second highest score of 31 on a difficult pitch in the previous game.
On this occasion he ended the day unbeaten on exactly fifty from 97 balls with one six and six fours in Ghani Glass’s second innings.
His partnership with Moshin Riaz (62 not out) is so far worth an unbroken 95 and Ghani Glass ended the day on 147-2 – an overall lead of 60.
Kashif, Worcestershire’s highest run scorer in the County Championship last summer, also added 51 for the second wicket with Hammad Butt (26).
Kashif (six) and his team-mates were bowled out for 238 in 55.2 overs in the first innings after electing to bat.
Pakistan Television totalled 325 in 85.3 overs to establish a healthy lead but then came the fightback from Kashif and his team-mates.
Kashif will be back at Visit Worcestershire New Road for his fourth season and on Friday will celebrate his 27th birthday.
