WOMEN’S RAPIDS PLAYER ARLOTT TAKES TWO WICKETS FOR ENGLAND ACADEMY

Worcestershire Women’s Rapids all-rounder Emily Arlott appeared for the England Women’s Academy and helped them defeat Sunrisers by 100 runs in a 40 over warm-up game at Radlett.

Arlott scored 12 not out off just six balls as England Academy totalled 265-8 and then instantly contributed with the ball.

She removed both openers and ended with figures of 5-1-22-2 as Sunrisers were bowled out for 165 in 32.3 overs.

Arlott then appeared against England Academy for Central Sparks in a T20 friendly at West Bromwich Dartmouth CC.

She finished with 4-0-29-1 as England Academy chased down a 154 target to win by six wickets.

That game was a proud moment for another Women’s Rapids player in youngster Charis Pavely who was chosen to carry out 12th duties.

Fellow Rapids player Ellie Anderson will also get a similar opportunity during forthcoming England Academy fixtures.

Worcestershire CCC Academy Coach, Elliot Wilson, confirmed: “Charis Pavely and Ellie Anderson are doing some 12th man duties for the England Women’s Academy.

“They are just there to help out and benefit from the experience. It is just an excellent experience for them.

“They will learn a bucketload, and hopefully it will inspire them to say ‘that’s where I want to be in a couple of years.’”
