With all this bad weather around, here's something to look forward to prior to the start of the 2014 cricket season.
We're delighted to reveal the details of our pre-season Chairman's Lunch which has been confirmed as Friday 4th April and will take place in the beautiful setting of our Chestnut Marquee.
Worcestershire County Cricket Club Chairman Percy Price will be joined by Bob 'The Cat' Bevan. Bob was referred to in The Stage as "Britain's leading after-dinner speaker," and is probably the first person to be honoured by HM the Queen for after-dinner speaking. He is also the first after-dinner speaker to be selected for "Who's Who" which includes "only those who have reached the pinnacle of achievement in their chosen field." The Variety Club magazine said that Bob is "one of the UK's Premier After-Dinner speakers."
Traditionally a sign that the start of the new season is upon us, the Chairman's Lunch offers a sumptuous three course lunch and an exclusive opportunity to hear from both players and coaches, just three days before their first competitive fixture of the season, as they take on Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl on Sunday 6th April.
Reception Drinks will be served in the Graeme Hick Pavilion from 1.30pm for a lunch at 2.00pm.
This event is always a sell out as friends, members and colleagues get together to celebrate not only cricket but also the start of the summer, so don't risk missing out and secure your place early.
