SEVEN WICKETS FOR WORCESTERSHIRE WOMEN’S BOWLER IN T20 MATCH

Worcestershire Women’s bowler Amy Maund produced an amazing performance in an ECB Girls Under-18 County Competitions T20 match, picking up seven wickets against Staffordshire at Maddershall CC.

Maund, who plays club cricket for Burghill, Tillington and Weobley CC, shared the new ball and finished with the superb figures of 4-0-15-7.

She bowled her overs in one spell as Staffordshire, who were put into bat, were dismissed for 43 in 9.4 overs.

Right arm pace bowler Maund picked up two wickets in each of her first, third and fourth overs and one in the second over as she bowled quick and straight.

Her overall figures for Worcestershire this season are 31-2-134-17 at an average of 7.88.

Worcestershire Women triumphed by six wickets and reached their target in eight overs.

Maund was also amongst the wickets with 2-31 in a 44 run victory over Warwickshire in another ECB Under-18 County Competitions encounter at Feckenham CC.

She finished with 2-31 and Ellie Anderson 2-19 as Worcestershire won by 44 runs under the Duckworth Lewis Method.

Lisette Barden (32) top scored in Worcestershire’s 143 all out in 32 overs and then Warwickshire were restricted to 97-9 after being set a revised target.

*Worcestershire Under-18s will resume on 139-6 from 44.4 overs on day two of the ECB Boys Under-18 County Competitions red ball match against Staffordshire at Old Hill CC.

Opener Oliver Cox top-scored with 49 off 79 balls with eight fours before captain Joe Stanley and keeper Luke Powell added an unbroken 30 on a rain-hit opening day.
