SECONDS RETURN TO ACTION WITH VICTORY OVER SACA AT OMBERSLEY

Worcestershire Seconds returned to action after a four and a half week break and defeated the South Asian Cricket Association by six wickets in a 50 over friendly match at Ombersley CC.

SACA were bowled out for 208 in 40.2 overs after electing to bat.

Ben Gibbon and triallist Matt Burton shared the new ball and picked up a wicket each in reducing SACA to 2-2.

Gibbon made another breakthrough and had figures of 6-1-14-2 from his opening spell.

Harry Darley continued his encouraging form after making his senior debut in the warm-up match for the Metro Bank One Day Cup against Shropshire at Shrewsbury.

He ended with figures of 7.2-2-16-3 and Ben Parker (2-41) and Taylor Cornall (1-40) were the other wicket-takers as SACA were bowled out for 208 in 40.2 overs.

Jack Haynes struck an unbeaten 123 off 101 balls with three sixes and 16 fours as Worcestershire reached their target in just 32.4 overs.

He shared in stands of 69 with Cornall (29), 81 with Ollie Sutton (37) and an unbroken 53 with Reeve Evitts who contributed six not out.
