Worcestershire Seconds were foiled by a combination of the weather and stubborn resistance from the Gloucestershire Seconds middle order in the drawn encounter at Cheltenham College.
The Seconds had established a strong position on day two in taking 14 wickets as Gloucestershire, who followed on 248 runs behind, closed on 139-4.
But only 39 overs play was possible on day three and half centuries from Uzi Qureshi and James Bracey enabled the home side to close on 313-7.
Alex Willerton made an early breakthrough for Worcestershire and it meant Gloucestershire had lost half their side for 153.
But Qureshi and Bracey added 97 for the sixth wicket to steer Gloucestershire in front.
The former was eventually caught behind off Alex Hepburn for 66 which came off 73 balls and contained eight fours.
Bracey remained unbeaten on 59 from 93 deliveries with seven fours.
Hepburn ended with 3-37 and Willerton 3-53.
