RUNS AND WICKETS FOR JACQUES BANTON IN LEAGUE TRIUMPH

Jacques Banton picked up two wickets and hit a rapid 46 to help Barnt Green to a seven wicket win over Knowle and Dorridge in a Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League Premier Division One fixture.

The Worcestershire all-rounder had figures of 7.5-14-2 and recent Academy addition, Cameron Jones, 7-0-17-2 as Knowle and Dorridge were dismissed for 117.

Banton then struck two sixes and seven fours in his 32 ball knock as Barnt Green reached their target in 23.2 overs.

Academy player, Reeve Evitts, returned 4-65 from 12 overs and made 38 not out but ended on the losing side as Kenilworth Wardens (262-8) fell short of Halesowen’s 344-6.

Opener Jack Home made 45 for Shifnal but their 172 all out was overhauled by Berkswell, 173-5, despite Mitchell Stanley’s 2-30 in 12 overs.

Worcestershire Seconds Coach, Kadeer Ali, finished with 3-42 and scored 28 for Smethwick, 227-3, in a seven wicket win over Leamington.

In Premier Division Two, Tom Fell struck 53 off 77 balls as Wolverhampton, 261-6, defeated Harborne by four wickets.

Ismail Mohammed’s 75 off 123 balls with one six and 10 fours, was a key contribution for West Bromwich Dartmouth, 275-6, in a four wicket success against Worfield.

Fellow Academy player, Ollie Walker, made 80 off 117 balls with three sixes and six fours as Himley, 240-6, defeated Lichfield by 73 runs.
