RAPIDS CAPTAIN MOEEN GEARING UP FOR FIFTH TOURNAMENT – AND MEETING WITH 2022 SIGNING WADE

Moeen Ali is gearing up for his FIFTH major tournament with England – and a meeting with Worcestershire CCC 2022 overseas signing, Matthew Wade.

Worcestershire Rapids Vitality Blast captain Moeen is all set to feature in the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup during the next three weeks in the UAE.

He will be a chasing a cup double after being part of the England squad which won the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup (50 over competition) on home soil two years ago.

The 34-year-old played in the 2014 and 2016 T20 World Cups with England reaching the 2016 final before losing to the West Indies in a dramatic finale in India.

Moeen also played in the 2015 and 2019 50 over World Cups and made five appearances in the latter tournament.

England launch their group programme in the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday against the West Indies.

But Worcestershire supporters will be looking forward with special interest to the meeting with Australia and 2022 signing Wade on October 30 at the same venue.

The left hander will be a key member of the Australian squad at the start of a busy winter before heading to New Road next summer.
