worcestershire rapids first team coach alex gidman has announced a 13 strong squad for this evening’s vitality blast quarter-final with sussex sharks at the 1st central county ground, hove (7pm).
it includes the side in action against northamptonshire steelbacks last friday – minus hamish rutherford who has earned an international call-up from new zealand for their final t20i in sri lanka today.
added to those 10 other players who took to the field at wantage road are paceman charlie morris, all-rounder george rhodes and batsman jack haynes.
all-rounder wayne parnell was forced to miss the game against the steelbacks through illness which again makes him unavailable to face the sharks.
rhodes has remained available to play for worcestershire in the blast after going on loan to leicestershire to play red ball cricket for the rest of the season before a permanent move on a three year contract.
he has played in two blast matches so far this season against yorkshire vikings at headingley, when he returned 2-12, and leicestershire foxes at New Road.
haynes made his specsavers county championship debut in the recent match with northamptonshire at wantage road but has yet to make an appearance in the blast.
