worcestershire seconds were beaten in both t20 matches against their durham counterparts at New Road.
the county used the double header to give an outing to several first teamers ahead of sunday’s royal london one-day cup semi-final against nottinghamshire or kent.
worcestershire opted to bat first in game one and skipper ollie westbury hit an unbeaten 72 off 59 balls with seven fours out of 163-5.
he shared in a third wicket stand of 69 in eight overs with ben cox (34 off 21 balls) and 68 for the fifth wicket with ed barnard whose 38 off 17 deliveries contained three sixes.
but durham reached their target in just 16.4 overs despite george rhodes and charlie morris both claiming an early wicket.
ryan pringle gave durham momentum with 42 off 19 balls and an unbroken 88 between scott steel (45 not out) and james weighell (63 not out off 31 balls with five sixes) saw durham home.
in game two, pringle was again amongst the runs after durham opted to bat with 65 off 40 balls with four sixes.
he shared a third wicket stand of 102 in 11 overs with steel (36) as the visitors reached 181-8.
ben twohig, with 1-27 in four overs, and triallist ryan gibson, 1-26 in four overs, were the most successful worcestershire bowlers.
worcestershire lost early wickets and never seriously threatened to reach their target and, despite a fifth wicket stand of 53 between rhodes and safwaan imtiaz, they closed on 148-9.
