Several Worcestershire CCC players will again be in action around the globe during this winter in a mixture of franchise, first class and grade cricket.
Opener Ed Pollock is returning to Sydney to play for St. George CC for a second successive winter in the New South Wales Premier Cricket competition.
It is a club which has produced many top Australian players including Sir Donald Bradman and Ray Lindwall, and more latterly Josh Hazlewood.
Keeper-batter Henry Cullen is heading to Adelaide to represent Woodville CC in the South Australian Premier Cricket competition, the highest level of cricket played in the state outside of first class cricket.
He enjoyed a successful spell with Victorian Premier Cricket side Plenty Valley two winter ago.
A third Worcestershire player heading Down Under is pace bowler Harry Darley who will play for Ulverstone in the North Western Tasmanian Cricket Association grade competition.
Keeper-batter Gareth Roderick is experiencing a third successive winter as captain of Cape Town side Green Point in the Western Province Premier Division.
Kashif Ali will represent Ghani Glass in Pakistan’s first class competition, the President’s Cup from January 6 to March 7 in addition to a chunk of club cricket.
Adam Hose has been selected by Desert Vipers for the International League T20 in the UAE from January 11 to February 9.
Worcestershire Head Coach, Alan Richardson, said: “I’ve always encouraged lads to go and play abroad.
“I’ve banged this drum a lot but it is a great opportunity for guys to widen their cricketing experience and their life experience in general.
“It makes them more rounded people and, not only that, it is a perfect balance for guys. They get an opportunity to train in the week and play at weekends.”
