PENNINGTON AND FINCH AMONGST WICKETS IN BIRMINGHAM LEAGUE

Worcestershire CCC pace duo Dillon Pennington and Adam Finch were amongst the wickets when on Birmingham Premier Cricket League duty for Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton respectively.

Pennington bowled a deadly opening spell in Shrewsbury’s eight wicket success over Knowle and Dorridge.

He picked up three of the first four wickets to fall – the other was a run-out – as Knowle were reduced to 23-4.

Pennington finished with figures of 7-1-21-3 as Knowle were dismissed for 97 in 23. 4 overs – a target comfortably achieved by the Shrews.

Finch was rewarded with an early wicket and returned to the attack to finish with 3-31 from 9.3 overs, two of which were maidens, as Halesowen were bowled out for 191 in 49.3 overs.

But he ended on the losing side with Wolverhampton replying with 165 all out in 46.1 overs.

Worcestershire CCC Coach Andy Sutton returned 4-32 for Barnt Green who bowled out Kidderminster for 191 to triumph by 21 runs.

County CEO Matt Rawnsley picked up 2-23 from 10 overs for Ombersley who restricted Bridgnorth to 193-8 but were then dismissed for 122 despite 37 from Josh Dell.

Pat Brown’s 10-3-26-2 for Dorridge was not enough to save them from a six wicket defeat against West Bromwich Dartmouth who chased down a 151 target.
