PAVELY HELPS WORCESTERSHIRE WOMEN MAINTAIN 100 PER CENT RECORD IN ECB CUP

Worcestershire Women’s Rapids maintained their 100 per cent record in the ECB Under-18 County One-Day Competition when a fine all-round performance from Charis Pavely helped them defeat Shropshire by four wickets at Bridgnorth.

The Rapids top the Group Two table with four wins out of four and are 23 points clear of second-placed Staffordshire.

Shropshire opted to bat and reached 157-5, but then Hannah Hardwick (4-1-27-1) dismissed top scorer Emily Churms for 52, holding onto a return catch, and the last five wickets fell for 16 runs.

Pavely had taken an early wicket and returned to the attack to claim two more and finished with fine figures of 6-1-13-3.

Kate Allerton (3-0-16-2), Ellie Anderson (5-0-16-2) and Danielle Williams (4-1-20-1) were the other successful bowlers.

Pavely then struck a superb 81 off just 66 balls, batting at number three with one six and 12 fours.
