Worcestershire Cricket Steering Group Chairman and former paceman, Paul Pridgeon, will be the January guest speaker of the Worcestershire Cricket Society in the Hick Pavilion next Tuesday (January 14) starting at 7.30pm.
Paul, who is also the current Vice-Chairman of Worcestershire CCC, will be discussing an association with the club stretching back nearly 50 years as player, coach and administrator.
Paul was a member of the Worcestershire County Championship winning squads of 1974, 1988 and 1989 and had a career return of 530 first class wickets.
His best seasonal haul was 72 first class wickets in 1983 but he also picked up 50 or more wickets during the 1978, 1980, 1981, 1984 and 1986 seasons.
In addition, his 30 List A wickets in 1988 helped the County win the John Player League title.
After leaving Worcestershire, Paul played for Shropshire for two years and took up a coaching role at Shrewsbury School for more than two decades.
He is also at the helm of the County’s satellite academy in Shropshire and played a big role in the initial development of several players including current Club Captain Joe Leach and Ed Barnard.
