
Worcestershire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that rising talents Isaac Mohammed and Jack Home have been selected in the England Youth U19 squad for the upcoming series against India U19, set to begin next month.
The selection marks a significant milestone in the development of both players, who will join up with the squad at the end of June, having impressed within the club’s professional pathway over recent times.
Isaac Mohammed, a promising top-order batter, impressed selectors after a string of mature performances in domestic youth competitions and more recent contributions for Worcestershire’s 2nd XI.
Despite having only joined the club earlier this month, Mohammed’s name has been circulating around the domestic scene, with Worcestershire CEO Ashley Giles wasting no time in securing his services from rivals, Warwickshire.
Jack Home, a product of the Worcestershire Academy, made his first-class debut in September of 2024, the same month he signed a new three-year deal with the club.
His recent performances, along with his formidable pace, make him one of the most talked about young bowlers in the country.
Head Coach, Alan Richardson, said the chances ahead of the youngsters are testament to their hard work and good form.
“We are absolutely delighted for Isaac and Jack. They’ve worked incredibly hard and shown real character and quality throughout the past few months.
“Jack, has progressed through our ranks and really worked hard for this opportunity. Isaac, despite only joining us recently, has burst onto the scene with his eye-catching batting style.
“This call-up is a fantastic opportunity for them to test themselves at international level and a proud moment for the club.”
The England U19 squad will face India U19 in a multi-match One Day International series across various venues in July, offering invaluable experience against one of the strongest youth sides in world cricket.
The series begins on the 27th June, when the sides meet in the series opener, at Hove, before the second and third fixtures take place in Northampton.
The series concludes with back-to-back fixtures, at Visit Worcestershire New Road, on Saturday 5th July and Monday 7th July.
