Worcestershire County Cricket Club Spreads Festive Cheer During Annual Visit to Acorns Children’s Hospice

Published 15/12/2025

Worcestershire County Cricket Club continued one of its most cherished community traditions last week, making its annual festive visit to Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Senior players Tom Taylor, Fateh Singh, Jack Home, Matthew Waite, and Harry Darley spent the afternoon engaging with children, participating in arts and crafts and decorating handmade Christmas ornaments.

The visit reflects the club’s long-standing collaboration with Acorns, a partnership rooted in giving back to the Worcestershire community and brightening the lives of children and families who rely on the hospice’s vital support.

Joe Tromans, Chief Revenue Officer at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, emphasised the significance of the ongoing relationship.

“Our relationship with Acorns epitomises the wholehearted and community-first focus we pride ourselves on at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

“As one of our proudest and strongest links within the community, we know the importance of our players spending time with the children at the hospice and the impact a small gesture from the club can have.”

Mel Hall, Community Fundraiser for Acorns Children’s Hospice, said: “The festive season is such a special time at Acorns and this visit added some extra sparkle – and instead of cricket balls there were baubles.

“We’re so grateful to our friends at Worcestershire County Cricket Club for their support and for making this such a special day. Not only does this hit home the importance of the care we offer for seriously ill children, it creates very special memories for everyone to treasure.”
