Worcestershire County Cricket Club is proud to announce a special day of cricket and community health awareness in partnership with the Bob Willis Charity Walk in Aid of Prostate Cancer, taking place on Sunday 17 August 2025 at Visit Worcestershire New Road.
The event is centred around the Metro Bank One-Day Cup clash between Worcestershire Rapids and Gloucestershire, starting at 11:00am, and aims to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer research, while encouraging early testing for men aged 50 and above.
As part of this initiative, all men aged 50+ who book a PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) test through the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust will receive a free ticket to the match. The PSA tests, priced at £28, must be pre-booked online and proof of registration shown at the gate on matchday. Testing will be conducted on-site from 1:00pm to 4:00pm by the Worcestershire Prostate Cancer Support Group (WPCSG) volunteers.
Joe Tromans, Commercial Director at Worcestershire, commented: “This is much more than a cricket match, it’s a call to action for men across our community.
If we can encourage even a few people to get tested who might not have otherwise, it could change, or even save, lives.
We’re delighted to be working alongside the Bob Willis Fund and WPCSG to make this a truly impactful day.”
John Barrett, event co-organiser and WPCSG liaison, said: “This event is about honouring Bob’s legacy and turning it into meaningful action.
We’ve built a brilliant day where cricket, health, and community meet, and we urge men aged 50+ to book their PSA test early and be part of it.
