It has been a bumper start to the year for everyone involved at New Road, where the club has broken into record breaking membership territory as it announces its best Earlybird membership window for seven years.
The Club can today announce a 7% increase in membership sign-ups compared to the end of the Earlybird window last year. The figures, the best Earlybird membership performance for seven years, highlights the club’s loyal supporter-base and growing appeal while vindicating the decision to reduce membership fees for 2026.
As the only first class county to reduce membership costs this season, the Club are delighted that more people than ever will be able to enjoy cricket at New Road and the wider benefits a Worcestershire CCC membership offers in 2026.
Ashley Giles, CEO, expressed his delight at what has been a terrific start to the year for the club from a commercial standpoint.
“To find ourselves in the current position we do, where we are hitting the highest levels of membership retention and acquisition we’ve seen in many years, is a telling sign of where this club is currently positioned.
“The decision to reduce membership fees was an important one, and one that came with a lot of consideration. The response has been overwhelming and absolutely justified the decision made to try and make Worcestershire County Cricket Club as accessible as possible.
“I’d like to thank the members for all their support that they have shown already in 2026.
“I say it a lot, but the sense of belonging and community here at Worcestershire is what we are built on, so to see that reflected in our membership uptake for this year makes it a very exciting time to be involved at the club.”
