Worcestershire stars Tom Taylor and Jake Libby have enjoyed superb 2025 campaigns to date, with both players compiling some stellar statistics in Division One of the Rothesay County Championship.
The duo have been ever-present throughout the red-ball competition, highlighting their magnificent individual seasons in what has been a challenging year for the Pears.
Taylor tops the charts for wickets taken across all bowlers in Division One, having claimed a staggering 43 wickets in 11 matches so far this year.
The 30-year-old has bowled 340 overs, 79 of which have been maidens, at an average of just over 24, as he has risen to the challenge of the top level of County Cricket and become Worcestershire’s most prized asset in four-day cricket.
His best figures were recorded in the Pears’ most recent Rothesay County Championship game against Hampshire, as Taylor claimed first-innings figures of 5-55 during an enthralling draw that went down to the last day.
For batter Jake Libby, recent form has served as a stark reminder of his capabilities at the top of the order, after putting any early-season struggles behind him in emphatic style.
The opener is approaching 1,000 runs for the season, having currently scored 931 runs in Division One—an outstanding achievement in itself, with runs at a premium in some challenging conditions and against potent seam attacks across the division in 2025.
Libby sits fourth in the list of averages for batters in Division One, with his recent liking for the Hampshire bowling attack seeing him accumulate back-to-back centuries in the home fixture at the start of August, having previously gone unbeaten for a career-best 228* against the same opponents at the Utilita Bowl earlier in the season.
Averaging 49 on the dot, his four centuries this campaign put him joint top of the list, having also scored a magnificent 167 in May when his side fell to a narrow defeat away at Sussex.
With three rounds of the County Championship remaining and a survival fight very much in the balance, both players will be looking to continue their outstanding form into the back end of the season in the hopes of leading the Pears’ fightback
