Worcestershire Rapids 2nd XI continued their impressive T20 form in a comfortable five-wicket win over Warwickshire on Tuesday afternoon.

Having lost the toss and asked to field first, Worcestershire’s bowlers produced an efficient display to dismiss Warwickshire 2nd XI for 127 in 19-overs.

The Rapids took three wickets inside the powerplay, as Ben Gibbon struck twice and Ben Allison took his side’s third wicket as Warwickshire were reduced to 42-3.

Jani and Smith came together to add 31 for the fourth-wicket, before Tom Hinley (3-22), picked up his first-wicket of the day to break their stand.

Hinley and Gibbon returned the best figures for their side on the day, sharing figures of 6-42 between them.

Harry Darley and Jake Libby took a wicket apiece, as the Bears struggled to build any momentum in their innings, restricted to 89-6 at the halfway stage.

Ben Gibbon (3-20) bowled another superb spell, as Jake Lintott was the only man to provide any resistance lower down the card with 27, but he was last out when his side were bundled out for 127.

The visitors were reduced to 26-3 in reply, as they lost Jake Libby (10), Ed Pollock (15) and Rob Jones (0) cheaply.

Match-winner from last time out, Daniel Lategan, came together with young-gun Henry Cullen, as the pair put on 51 for the fourth-wicket as Cullen scored 30 off 33 balls before he was caught.

Youngster Rehaan Edavalath batting with maturity for his 16-ball-18, as Lategan batted through until the case was complete in the 17th over, with the Rapids cruising to a five-wicket win.
