Ethan Brookes nominated for PCA player of the month

Published 01/08/2025

Worcestershire all-rounder Ethan Brookes is one of the four nominees for the Professional Cricketers Association Player of the Month award following a stellar few weeks across both formats.

July saw the group stages of the Vitality Blast come to an end, whilst the Rothesay County Championship returned for round 11 and the first three days of round 12.

Brookes had a month to remember, scoring 440 runs and taking four wickets to claim 162.91 MVP points. The 24-year-old won two Match MVP accolades with his best performance coming against Warwickshire in the Division One.

Brookes starred with the bat, hitting 227 runs in the game, including achieving his First-Class career best score of 140 to pick up 61.99 MVP points.

This followed his sensational individual performances in the Vitality T20 Blast, with his record-breaking 50 off just 18 balls against Nottinghamshire Outlaws leading his side to a memorable victory on the night.

The top four men’s domestic players have been announced using the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, as Brookes comes up against:

  • Chris Green (Lancashire)
  • Rehan Ahmed (Leicestershire)
  • Will Jacks (Surrey)

The PCA Player of the Month will be decided by a 50:50 split between the PCA MVP Rankings and the public vote on thepca.co.uk – with the poll closing on August 2nd at 10pm. With a short window to have your say, vote now to pick Ethan as your winner for July.
