Worcestershire County Cricket Club are deeply saddened to announce the passing of lifelong supporter and Supporters Association Vice Chair, Dave Kennedy, aged 81.
A dedicated member of the Worcestershire family, Dave was a familiar face at Visit Worcestershire New Road throughout his life.nHaving worked tirelessly within the Worcestershire County Cricket Supporters Association, he became well known for his commitment and kindness.
Since 2016, he devoted much of his time to running the Club’s popular 50/50 draw, a role he carried out with great enthusiasm and warmth.
Dave’s presence around the ground was a source of joy for so many. Whether chatting with staff, sharing stories with players, or greeting fellow supporters, he was admired for his friendliness and approachability.
In his later years, he could often be seen walking around the ground, always ready with a smile and a word of encouragement.
Supporters Association Chair, Andrew Jenkins, paid tribute, saying:
“Dave will be greatly missed by all those involved. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Thank you, Dave — you had a great innings.”
