Worcestershire seam bowler Ben Allison has been named in the MCC squad for the upcoming overseas tour to Zimbabwe, after a superb end to the domestic season
Having been named in the 13-man travelling squad, it is the first time the MCC have toured the country in the modern-era.
Allison, is included alongside eight other players with first-class and/or List A experience, who will depart Lord’s for Harare, where they will play seven matches of varying formats – including a three-day first-class match – across the trip which lasts a fortnight.
2025 proved to be a standout year for the seam bowler, taking a remarkable 64 wickets across all-formats, including finishing inside the top-10 wicket takers for the season in Division One of the Rothesay County Championship.
With his superb end of season form rewarded in a call-up for the multi-format series, Allison is eager to get going in the new environment.
“I am really excited to play abroad and travel to somewhere I have never been before – I am really keen to meet the group!
“The chance to play in a new environment and test myself around a new group is something I am relishing to be honest.
“It has been a great season at Worcestershire, so to have that form recognised is obviously very nice, hopefully I can continue that good rhythm over the next few weeks!”
