“A Turn Around the Ground” is a sponsored event at Visit Worcestershire New Road in aid of The Baker Foundation, the organisation set up in memory of Josh Baker.
The event will take place on Saturday 20th September, where people are invited to come together to partake in walking around the outfield of the ground, as many or as few laps as you please, in co-ordination with JB33 Foundation.
The foundation was set up by Josh’s parents, Paul and Lisa, in his honour and to help support local cricket.
Weather permitting, the walk will take place on the outfield around a course set out following the boundary line, with every circuit will making a difference.
The ground will be open from 8am and participants will have use of The Chestnut Marquee for toilets, rest breaks and refreshments.

Josh’s parents, Paul and Lisa, said the event is fantastic way to help raise awareness and bring people together.
“On 2nd May 2024 our lives changed forever when our son Josh passed away suddenly two weeks before his 21st birthday, leaving us heartbroken.
“He was just at the start of his cricketing career – something that has always been part of his and our lives. Josh loved life and was always finding ways to fulfil his dreams.
“We wanted to do something that leaves a legacy hence the JB33 Foundation. This will be our focus – working with Cricket clubs offering opportunities to all.
“This is an exciting journey for both ourselves and the trustees that will give something back to the sport that Josh and we love.
“A Turn Around The Ground is a great way that everyone can be involved and takes place at New Road the place that Josh loved being at and playing at”
