New Worcestershire CCC skipper Joe Leach says his predecessor Daryl Mitchell has been quick to offer him his full support .
Leach will be taking over the reins at New Road for the 2017 campaign after being promoted from the vice-captaincy role.
Mitchell, 32, was disappointed to see his six year spell as skipper come to an end.
But the County's 2016 beneficiary was quick to give his backing to Leach who is Worcestershire's 29th official captain.
Leach, who will be 26 at the end of this month, said: "Daryl has been really fantastic already.
"He spoke to me straight away and said he is fully supportive of me getting the job although he is a bit disappointed for himself.
"I am sure, come the start of the season, he will be ready and raring to go.
"He is someone I will be relying on as a senior player, a senior batter, to score big runs and also to give me a bit of a helping hand."
