The Morgan Motor Company has been Worcestershire County Cricket Club’s main club sponsor since the start of 2021 and will be handing over its shirt sponsorship to the charity St Richard’s Hospice for the Vitality Blast fixture against Leicestershire.
The St Richard’s Hospice logo will be displayed across the first team’s shirts during the fixture at New Road on Sunday, 27 June. The match shirts are then being auctioned off to raise additional money to support St Richards’ work in the local community.
Worcestershire County Cricket Club is working with St Richard’s Hospice as its Official Charity Partner during 2021 and the Club has several initiatives planned throughout the year to help raise funds and the profile of the Worcester based charity.
The generous gesture from The Morgan Motor Company comes in direct response to a challenging year for St Richards Hospice, who have missed out on a large amount of expected income due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, St Richards Hospice has continued to support many people in need across Worcestershire.
David Hoskins Worcestershire County Cricket Club’s Head of Commercial & Operations commented: “We are incredibly grateful to Morgan for this unique opportunity that they are providing to St Richard’s Hospice. Their generosity will help raise awareness and vital funds so that they can continue to support the local community.
Steve Morris, Chairman & CEO of the Morgan Motor Company, said: “We are delighted to be working with Worcestershire County Cricket Club to help support local communities who have been particularly challenged over the last year. As longstanding supporters of St Richard’s Hospice, it is our pleasure to be handing over our shirt sponsorship to them for the upcoming Vitality Blast fixture.”
Tricia Cavell, St Richard’s Hospice added: “We cannot thank Morgan Motor Company and Worcestershire County Cricket Club enough for such a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the care we provide for patients and their loved ones across Worcestershire. We’re excited to see the team wearing our St Richard’s snowdrops for the Vitality Blast match against Leicestershire.”
