Moeen Ali was quickly back into the groove with the ball for England on day two of the drawn game with a West Indies President’s X1 at the Three W’s Stadium.
The Worcestershire all-rounder had his first bowl since picking up 18 wickets in three Tests against Sri Lanka during the first part of the winter.
He ended with two wickets as the President’s X1 were bowled out for 128 in their first innings.
But, under the rules of the game, the President’s X1 were required to bat all day – as was the case with England on the opening day – and finished with a combined total of 203-19 for their efforts.
Moeen accounted for top-scorer, Vishal Singh, who after two hours of defiance came down the wicket and was stumped by Ben Foakes for 35.
The 31-year-old spinner also had Raymond Reifer (17) caught by Test captain Joe Root – one of the few batsmen on either side to impress in testing conditions.
Moeen finished with figures of 13-4-30-2 in the President’s X1’s first innings before they returned to the middle.
Stuart Broad recorded a hat-trick in the first of two warm-up matches against the President’s X1.
