Worcestershire County Cricket Club are sad to announce the passing away of Mike Passey – the youngest player to represent the club in first class cricket – at the age of 85.
Passey made his Worcestershire debut aged just 16 and 63 days in the drawn County Championship match with Glamorgan at New Road in August 1953.
It was to be his only appearance for Worcestershire and he scored one, batting at number eleven, and had bowling figures of 12-2-57-1 with his off spin.
Passey, who was born at Crossway Green, Worcestershire, was the fifth bowler used and dismissed number five batter, Phil Clift, for 45.
Worcestershire send condolences to members of Mike Passey’s family
