Day 1
Worcestershire made a splendid start to the 2014 season despite rain limiting play to only 45 minutes on the opening day of the LV County Championship clash with Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl.
County skipper Daryl Mitchell put the home side into bat after winning the toss and his new ball attack of Chris Russell and Charlie Morris reduced them to 37-3 from 8.5 overs.
Play was unable to get underway because of rain until 2.45pm after an early lunch was taken at 12.30.
Worcestershire Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes opted to give County Championship debuts to batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Morris.
Russell struck in the first over when he had Carberry trapped lbw for nought without a run on the board.
It became 15-2 when Morris claimed his first championship wicket as Liam Dawson (2) was bowled.
Russell secured a second victim when James Vince (0) was safely caught by Mitchell to leave Hampshire 28-3.
Only nine more runs were added before the rain returned at 3.30pm with Adams unbeaten on 32 off 33 balls with five boundaries.
Russell finished with 2-17 from 4.5 overs and Morris 1-20 from four overs as no more play was possible.
