MACEY AND BERTWHISTLE LEAD THE WAY FOR WOMEN’S RAPIDS IN MEMORABLE SEASON

Georgina Macey was Worcestershire Women’s Rapids leading run-scorer during a memorable season for the team.

Macey scored 295 runs in eight knocks with three half-centuries and a highest score of 70 versus Shropshire in the ECB Women’s County T20 Group Two competition.

Her contributions played a key role in the Rapids winning that tournament, and they also came runners-up in the West Midlands Regional Cup.

Clare Boycott (264) was the next highest scorer in a summer where she completed 200 appearances for the Rapids.

She hit the Rapids’ highest individual score of 2022 with her 83 not out in the West Midlands Regional Cup win over local rivals Warwickshire.

On the bowling front, spinner Bertwhistle had a memorable season with 19 wickets at an average of just 8.42.

She twice returned five-wicket hauls and picked up a wicket every 14.26 deliveries.

The other main contributors were Ellie Anderson (nine) and Boycott (eight), demonstrating her all-rounder qualities.
