LIBBY ACHIEVES PERSONAL MILESTONE AND TAYLOR MAKES HIS MARK

Jake Libby reached another personal milestone with the bat during Worcestershire’s stunning Vitality County Championship victory over Essex at Chelmsford.

Libby’s second innings half century enabled him to complete 4,000 first class runs for Worcestershire.

He has amassed a total of 4,049 from 56 matches at an average of 47.63 with 12 centuries and 18 fifties.

Libby has been Worcestershire’s leading scorer for the past two seasons and is second only to Kashif Ali amongst their run-scorers this summer.

The opener’s 635 run tally includes one hundred and five half centuries.

Kashif has been in prolific form in red ball cricket with two centuries and five fifties in 15 innings and scored 733 runs at 56.38.

Club Captain Brett D’Oliveira’s superb form since returning to the side – three successive half centuries – has moved him up to third in the averages.

On the bowling front, Tom Taylor has made a big impact in red ball cricket after recovering from early season shoulder and knee injuries.

The all-rounder has bowled with accuracy and aggression in his four appearances and been rewarded with 16 wickets.

Joe Leach has 22 scalps to date in his final season but overseas player Nathan Smith remains the leading wicket-taker with 27 before a hamstring injury cut short his stay at Visit Worcestershire New Road.
