LAST OVER HITTING FROM CULLEN HELPS UNDER-18S TO COMPLETE T20 DOUBLE

Henry Cullen hit 16 from the final over – including a six off the last ball – to help Worcestershire CCC Under-18s complete a T20 double over Leicestershire Under-18s at Uppingham School.

The wicket-keeper-batsman struck 2, 0, 4, 2, 2, 2, 6 off the bowling of Uday Modhwadia as Worcestershire successfully chased down a 152 target.

Cullen finished unbeaten on 39 from just 20 balls with one six and five fours.

His efforts followed on from an excellent 60 off 43 balls from opener Oliver Cox who put on 47 for the second wicket with Ismail Mohammed (21).

Cox was third out at 99-3 after hitting one six, seven fours, and Cullen took command.

Earlier, Cameron Jones picked up three wickets, and there were one apiece for Reeve Evitts and Oliver Davidson as Leicestershire totalled 151-6 after opting to bat.

Davidson produced a superb spell of bowling in Game One as Worcestershire triumphed by 63 runs.

He finished with figures of 4-0-16-5 as Leicestershire were bowled out for just 92 in 12.4 overs.

Edward Bragg and Pat Brown, continuing his comeback from injury, had made the early breakthroughs with a wicket apiece before Davidson wreaked havoc.

Captain Joe Stanley (1-8) and Ismail Mohammed (1-7) were the other wicket-takers.

Worcestershire were indebted to Mohammed for a top score of 40 after they had chosen to bat.

He came in at 64-4 after the dismissal of Harry Cooke (34) and hit one six and three fours as Worcestershire totalled 155-9.
