KASHIF EQUALS CAREER BEST SCORE WITH SUPERB 133

Worcestershire batter Kashif Ali equalled his career best first class score with a superb 133 for Ghani Glass on the third day of the President’s Trophy encounter with Pakistan Television in Kashmir.

Kashif began the day on exactly 50 not out and went onto match his second innings knock against Warwickshire in last season’s County Championship match at Edgbaston – his second ton of the game.

He batted for almost six hours and faced 235 balls as Ghani Glass totalled 329 all out from 82.2 overs in their second innings.

Kashif, who will be 27 on Friday, struck a total of two sixes and 13 fours in another example of the shining talent discovered by Worcestershire three years ago.

The SACA product put on 115 for the third wicket with Moshin Riaz (65) and 58 for the seventh wicket with Haseeb-Ul-Rehman (27).

Kashif’s excellent innings ended when he was last out, caught at long on off the bowling of Mehran Sanwal who ended with a five wicket haul.

It was the sort of performance that Worcestershire members and supporters will be hoping for a repeat of this summer from Kashif who was the leading scorer for the club in County Championship cricket in 2024.

However, despite his brilliant efforts, Ghani Glass are facing the prospect of defeat as Pakistan Television, requiring 243 for victory, reached 204-2 off 38 overs by the close of the third day.
