JOSH BAKER CHARITY TO REACH THOUSANDS THANKS TO CAMPAIGN BY WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB AND ATTIVO

In a bid to provide significant exposure to a charity set up in the name of former Worcestershire cricketer Josh Baker, Worcestershire County Cricket Club’s principal partner Attivo is generously donating their front-of-shirt sponsorship to enable the charitable foundation’s logo to be featured prominently on player’s shirts and reach an audience of thousands.

Josh Baker was just 20 years old when he passed away in 2024. Following their devastating loss, his parents Lisa and Paul Baker launched the JB33 Foundation in his memory to support local cricket clubs across the region, including helping them with important safety equipment such as life-saving defibrillators.

Worcestershire County Cricket Club and lifestyle financial planning firm Attivo have been working closely to identify opportunities to support the important work of the foundation and recognised the charity could gain exposure and increased awareness from front-of-shirt branding. As a result, Attivo has generously donated its main branding spot to the charity for all the Metro Bank One Day Cup matches in August.

To further support the endeavours of the foundation Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Attivo have also released a limited-edition run of 33 exclusive shirts featuring the JB33 Foundation logo. Priced at £100 and available in special edition packaging, 100% generated from the sale of these shirts will be donated to the charity. These will be available on the Club website from 6pm 8 August.

Josh Baker’s contribution and commitment to the sport during his two years at Worcestershire County Cricket Club is highly regarded. The left arm spin bowler took an impressive 70 wickets in 47 appearances and formed strong friendships and bonds with his teammates and colleagues who were left devastated by his sudden passing in May 2024.

  • Ashley Giles, WCCC CEO

“Josh was not only a gifted cricketer but also a cherished member of the club’s family and his passion, determination, and spirit touched those around him. Honouring him through our partnership with Attivo and the JB33 Foundation ensures his legacy will continue to inspire and benefit local cricket communities for years to come.”
  • Stephen Harper, Attivo’s Founder and Chairman

“By donating this prime position on player’s shirts to the JB33 Foundation we hope to help the charity reach a far wider audience than ever before. This is a special and meaningful way to honour Josh’s legacy and memory, and we wanted to do all we could to support the local and cricketing community and nurture the sport he loved so much.”
  • Paul Baker, JB33 Foundation

“Josh’s love for cricket was at the heart of everything he did and the JB33 Foundation is our way of keeping that love alive, so we’re deeply grateful to Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Attivo for their incredible support.
“Having the JB33 Foundation logo in prime position on the club’s shirt means thousands of people are likely to see it when they come and watch matches in person, through matches that are broadcast online and exposure on social media channels, and this will hugely help us in continuing Josh’s legacy.”

Worcestershire County Cricket Club has honoured Josh’s memory in other meaningful ways, including retiring his number 33 shirt and displaying it in a framed shirt in the Graeme Hick Pavilion. The club has also installed a commemorative bench at the training nets featuring Josh’s locker plaque. Additionally, Josh’s parents, Paul and Lisa Baker, have been awarded life memberships in recognition of the legacy Josh created at the club. This latest initiative is part of Worcestershire County Cricket Club’s ongoing efforts to support charitable causes throughout the county.
